We are all really excited here at SSVH as we have finally got a dental x-ray unit installed. This has been a purchase long in coming and we are really looking forward to increasing our standard of dental care to your pets. Started Feb 1 Dental month (or two in our case) is upon us. As usual we will offer 10% discount on our dental procedures but as we get adjusted to the dental machine, we will do all out dental radio-graphs at no charge.
Why dental x-rays do you ask? When we clean their teeth we see what’s above the gum line. We can see and probe for pockets but with the x-ray unit we will be able to see if the dental disease in your pet’s mouth has affected the root structure. No every animal will need radio-graphs done but if you pet has significant tartar then we will take the pictures. We will be able to load these onto their files as well as email them to you should you want a copy.
Cats often have neck lesions or deep cavities that cause us to have to remove the teeth. often the roots of these teeth become fused to the alveolar bone. The dental x-ray will allow us to see if this has happened and then we can address the tooth in the proper manner.
We look forward to having this new technology for us and to serving your furry friends better.
